Iran’s Military Command Briefs Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Readiness

In a high-level meeting focused on national security and defense, Ali Abdollahi, the chief commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, provided a comprehensive briefing to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on the state of the country's military readiness.

According to a report from the official news agency IRNA, the meeting centered on the Iranian armed forces' capability to counter what Abdollahi described as "hostile actions" from the United States and Israel. The commander issued a stern warning, stating that any act of aggression against the country would be met with a response that is "swiftly, intensely, and powerfully" executed.

This briefing comes at a pivotal time for Iran's leadership. In early March of this year, the Assembly of Experts appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader. This transition followed the assassination of his father and former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli attack in Tehran on February 28, 2026.

During the session, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei praised the Iranian armed forces for being "brave and powerful." He further outlined strategic new measures aimed at continuing the fight against perceived enemies, signaling a commitment to maintaining a strong military posture during this transitional period.
