The 18th edition of the Tour of Sayram has come to a triumphant conclusion in the Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, located within the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. In a thrilling finish, local favorite Hahailisi Habudeli emerged as the dominant force, clinching both the final stage victory and the prestigious overall individual title.
The final 90-kilometer stage is widely regarded as the most beautiful yet demanding part of the race. Riders faced an average altitude exceeding 2,000 meters and battled challenging winds sweeping along the shores of the lake. Despite these conditions, the competition remained fierce, with cyclists maintaining impressive speeds between 45 and 50 km/h, creating a stunning spectacle for onlookers.
Habudeli's victory in the final stage secured him the yellow jersey, marking him as the overall champion. He was followed by Mikhail Mukhin in second place and Uladzislau Yarash in third, both of whom delivered commendable performances throughout the event.
Over the course of six grueling stages and a total distance of 518 kilometers, Zachary Patterson showcased exceptional speed and endurance, earning the green jersey as the competition's best sprinter.
What began as a local sporting event has now evolved into a premier international showcase. Now in its 18th year, the Tour of Sayram continues to attract elite cyclists from across the globe, serving as a window for the world to experience the natural beauty, cultural richness, and openness of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
