A series of massive overnight drone and missile attacks launched by Russia have left at least 10 people dead and dozens more injured across Ukraine, local authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Devastation in Kyiv
The capital city of Kyiv bore a significant brunt of the onslaught. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported via Telegram that four residents were killed and 58 others wounded. Among the injured, 40 individuals required urgent hospitalization.
The strikes triggered widespread fires throughout the city, causing severe damage to non-residential facilities and several apartment complexes. In the central Podilskyi district, the situation was particularly dire as a nine-story apartment building partially collapsed following a suspected missile strike, adding to the urgency of the emergency response.
Casualties in Dnipro
The devastation extended to central Ukraine, where the city of Dnipro was heavily targeted. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, the strikes in the region resulted in six fatalities and left 36 people injured.
Ongoing Rescue Efforts
As the sun rose on Tuesday, the priority shifted to search and rescue. Ukraine's State Service for Emergencies indicated that operations were still actively underway at the strike sites, with teams working to locate survivors amidst the rubble of collapsed structures.
