In a significant diplomatic milestone, North Macedonia has embarked on its first high-level official visit to China in a decade. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoilković recently traveled to Jinan, Shandong Province, to participate in the 7th China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting and the 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation.
During his visit, Stoilković highlighted the enduring and pivotal role China has played in global history. He expressed profound admiration for the rapid advancements China has achieved in science and technology over the last twenty years, noting that these breakthroughs have resonated deeply with the people of North Macedonia.
Adding a cultural dimension to the diplomatic engagement, Stoilković drew inspiration from the birthplace of Confucius. While speaking in Shandong, he quoted the great philosopher: "One who is a true human being helps others to stand firm when they wish to stand firm, and helps others to succeed when they wish to succeed."
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, China's growth is not merely a national achievement but a model of shared progress. He emphasized that China's development reflects a genuine willingness to share experiences and pursue collective advancement with other nations. As both regions look toward the future, North Macedonia expressed a strong desire to achieve further development goals through enhanced cooperation with China, marking the beginning of a promising new era in their bilateral relationship.
