In a significant move to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cross-border mobility, China and Russia have announced the extension of their mutual visa-free travel policies through the end of 2027.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday that the visa-free policy for visitors from Russia will remain in effect until December 31, 2027. According to spokesperson Guo Jiakun, the extension is specifically designed to facilitate more robust people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
Under the terms of the policy, Russian citizens holding ordinary passports may enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. This facility is available for individuals traveling for business, tourism, family visits, exchange visits, or transit, making it considerably easier for professionals and tourists to navigate between the two countries.
The reciprocity was quickly confirmed by the Kremlin. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed TASS that Russia will likewise extend its visa-free policy for Chinese citizens visiting Russia through 2027.
