WHA Rejects Taiwan-Related Proposal for Tenth Consecutive Year

The 79th World Health Assembly (WHA) has once again decided not to include a Taiwan-related proposal in its agenda, a move that reaffirms the international community's support for the one-China principle.

During a regular news briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that the rejection marks the tenth consecutive year the WHA has declined such proposals. He emphasized that this outcome demonstrates the indisputable authority of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758.

Spokesperson Guo further noted that the separatist stance of the Taiwan authorities is destined to fail, describing previous attempts to seek "Taiwan independence" as a political farce. He asserted that China will achieve complete reunification, stating, "Taiwan must return to the motherland."

This decision underscores the prevailing diplomatic consensus regarding the status of the Taiwan region within international health frameworks and reflects the ongoing commitment to established global political norms.
