In a meeting held this week, senior officials from Kyrgyzstan and China emphasized the steady advancement of their bilateral relationship and a shared commitment to enhancing military cooperation. The talks, which took place in Beijing, highlighted the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Adylbek Kasymaliev, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, met with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun. Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are currently developing rapidly and steadily, with the two sides maintaining a high-level of political mutual trust.
"The Kyrgyz side always views China as a key strategic partner," Kasymaliev said. He expressed readiness to continue deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and strengthening cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms, particularly within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Against a backdrop of an unstable international situation, Kasymaliev pointed to the emergence of new security challenges. He stressed that promoting practical military cooperation is crucial for a joint response to terrorism, extremism, separatism, transnational crime, and other threats.
In response, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun described China and Kyrgyzstan as kind neighbors, good friends, and reliable partners. He stated that bilateral relations have made significant progress under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders.
"Over the past years, relations between the two militaries have maintained vigorous development, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have achieved fruitful results," Dong said. He added that China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to deepen their traditional friendship, improve the quality of cooperation, and strengthen interaction on multilateral platforms.
This enhanced collaboration, according to Dong, aims to safeguard a peaceful environment for the development of both countries and contribute positive energy to a turbulent world.
