China Media Group (CMG) reinforced its collaboration with African broadcasters this week during the 'Our African Partners 2026' media event in Banjul, The Gambia. The forum, co-hosted with the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), brought together nearly 100 executives and representatives from over 50 member states during the AUB's 17th General Assembly.
Held from April 16 to 17 to mark the AUB's 20th anniversary, the event highlighted cross-continental media cooperation. CMG delegates showcased initiatives for joint content production and technology sharing, aligning with Africa's digital transformation goals. AUB Secretary-General Grégoire Ndjaka praised the partnership as 'a bridge for cultural understanding and balanced global narratives.'
The assembly also addressed challenges in modern broadcasting, with participants emphasizing sustainable funding models and youth-focused programming. As international members since 2012, CMG reaffirmed plans to expand training programs for African journalists through 2026.
