Sanya Asian Beach Games Media Hub Enters Trial Phase Ahead of April 22 Opening

With five days remaining until the 2026 Sanya Asian Beach Games, organizers have initiated trial operations at the event's Main Media Center (MMC) in Hainan Province, signaling the final stretch of preparations for Asia's premier coastal sports competition. The facility, which began testing its systems on April 17, integrates press operations, broadcasting infrastructure, and accommodation into a unified complex designed to serve thousands of accredited media professionals.

The MMC's dual-zone structure separates workspace areas for print journalists and broadcast teams while maintaining shared access to multilingual coordination services, high-capacity internet networks, and dedicated transportation links. Technical rehearsals this week focus on optimizing workflow systems ranging from accreditation processing to live signal distribution for international audiences.

"This operational dry run allows us to refine our sustainability protocols and technical integrations before global media arrive," stated a coordination official, highlighting features like energy-efficient cooling systems in the 24-hour workspaces and AI-assisted interview scheduling tools. Catering services will showcase Hainan's local cuisine while adhering to international dietary requirements.

With over 40 participating National Olympic Committees expected at the April 22 opening ceremony, the MMC trial represents a critical milestone in China's latest large-scale sporting event hosting efforts. Media representatives from the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia have already begun arriving for orientation sessions ahead of the first competitions.
