China and Namibia have pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen multilateral frameworks during high-level talks held this week, as Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi concludes a seven-day official visit to China.
The two nations reaffirmed their shared commitment to addressing global challenges through inclusive dialogue during meetings between Ashipala-Musavyi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. With the visit occurring amid ongoing debates about global governance reform, both ministers emphasized the need to amplify developing countries' voices in international decision-making processes.
"Our partnership stands as a model for South-South cooperation," stated Wang during a joint press briefing on April 16. The ministers outlined plans to coordinate closely at the United Nations and other multilateral platforms, particularly on climate action and sustainable development goals.
The agreement comes as African nations increasingly seek balanced international partnerships. Namibia's delegation visited several Chinese technology and renewable energy facilities, signaling potential new areas of economic collaboration beyond traditional mining sectors.
