China Delivers 58 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Iran Amid Regional Tensions

China has provided 58 tons of emergency humanitarian assistance to Iran, reinforcing bilateral ties amid ongoing regional instability. The aid was formally handed over during a ceremony at the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) headquarters on Wednesday, attended by Chinese Ambassador Cong Peiwu and IRCS President Pirhossein Kolivand.

Ambassador Cong emphasized China's commitment to fulfilling international humanitarian responsibilities, stating the assistance aligns with its vision of building a "community with a shared future for humanity." He highlighted China's consistent efforts to promote peace in the region since the outbreak of recent conflicts, pledging continued collaboration with global partners to stabilize the Middle East.

Kolivand thanked China for its steadfast support during challenging times, noting that the aid follows earlier donations after a tragic attack on a girls' school in Minab. He condemned recent infrastructure damage affecting over 137,000 facilities, including airports and railways, attributing it to actions violating international humanitarian law.

The delivery underscores deepening cooperation between Beijing and Tehran as geopolitical tensions persist. Analysts suggest such initiatives strengthen China's role as a mediator in regional crises while addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
