Hainan's transformation into a nexus of global innovation took center stage at this year's China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), where Olymp'Arts International Committee Vice President Dalia Gallico highlighted the island's unique position in bridging international creative industries.
"The Hainan Free Trade Port has evolved beyond traditional commerce," Gallico told CGTN during the April 2026 event. "It's becoming a dynamic platform where Italian design excellence converges with Chinese technological innovation – particularly in sustainable fashion and smart transportation solutions."
The executive emphasized that recent policy developments have accelerated cross-border collaboration, noting: "This year's breakthroughs in customs facilitation and intellectual property protection are creating unprecedented opportunities for Italy-China co-creation projects."
