Snooker star Ding Junhui delivered a commanding performance at the World Snooker Tour (WST) International Championship in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, defeating England's Michael Holt 6-1 in Monday's first round. The defending champion opened with a 134-point break – the match's highest – followed by a 97-point clearance, establishing early dominance.
Holt briefly rallied in the sixth frame but couldn't counter Ding's precision, as the Chinese veteran closed the match with an 86-point break. Ding now advances to face England's Liam Highfield in the next round.
In another highlight, Chinese players Zhao Xintong and Fan Zhengyi battled through a tense eight-frame match. Zhao ultimately prevailed 6-3 after multiple lead changes, securing his place against compatriot Lei Peifan. The tournament continues through Sunday, featuring 64 players from 15 countries and regions competing for the £175,000 top prize.
