Guangdong's diving squad cemented its legacy as China's aquatic powerhouse by claiming an unprecedented eighth consecutive men's team gold medal at the 15th National Games in Guangzhou. The home team's victory on Monday showcased both seasoned champions and rising stars in a thrilling four-round competition.

The event opened with synchronized 3-meter springboard action, where Huang Bowen and Xie Siyi delivered a strong 258.48-point performance for Guangdong. Though temporarily overtaken by Hubei's Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan (266.88 points), Guangdong maintained depth through third-place finishers Guo Haoyu and Hu Yukang (257.46).

Shaanxi's Zhao Renjie electrified the 10-meter platform round with a 493.80-point stunner, but Guangdong's Zhu Zifeng and Huang Jianjie responded with a combined 1,442.44 points to keep their team ahead. Hubei narrowed the gap in the third round through Wang and Xie's springboard excellence before the decisive synchronized 10m platform finale.

Veteran Chen Aisen partnered with Zhu Zifeng to post 267.12 points for Guangdong, while teammates Mo Yonghua and Zheng Junzhi sealed the victory with 223.08 points. The triumph underscores Guangdong's sustained investment in athletic development and positions its divers as ones to watch ahead of international competitions.
