China, Belarus Strengthen Ties in High-Level Talks

Senior Chinese Communist Party official Li Xi concluded a four-day goodwill visit to Belarus this week, marking a significant step in deepening bilateral cooperation amid evolving global dynamics. The visit reinforced commitments to joint modernization efforts and multilateral collaboration through China's global initiatives.

Strategic Partnership Reinforced

As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Li met with President Alexander Lukashenko and other key officials in Minsk. Both sides pledged to advance practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative while strengthening coordination in international organizations like the United Nations and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Four Global Initiatives Embraced

President Lukashenko expressed full support for China's Global Development, Security, Civilization, and Governance Initiatives, calling them "essential for balanced global progress." Li emphasized China's willingness to share modernization experiences with Belarus, particularly in governance and anti-corruption measures through enhanced party-to-party exchanges.

Modernization Synergy

During talks with House of Representatives Chairman Igor Sergeyenko, both sides highlighted their complementary modernization paths. Belarus described China's development model as inspirational, while Li proposed increased dialogue on improving global governance systems. The discussions underscored Belarus's designation of China as an "all-weather comprehensive strategic partner" in its foreign policy framework.
