Russia’s Progress MS-34 Cargo Craft En Route to ISS with Vital Supplies

A critical resupply mission is underway to the International Space Station (ISS) following the successful launch of Russia's Progress MS-34 cargo spacecraft this past weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday, April 25, 2026, a Soyuz-2.1a rocket lifted off from the historic Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, carrying the automated freighter into the predawn sky. The launch was broadcast live by Russia's state space corporation, Roscosmos.

The spacecraft has successfully entered its designated orbit and is on a carefully calculated journey to rendezvous with the orbiting laboratory. It is scheduled to dock autonomously with the Zvezda service module on the station's Russian segment this Monday.

This delivery is essential for the crew's continued operations and research. The Progress MS-34 is carrying more than 2.5 tonnes of crucial supplies, including propellant to maintain the station's orbit, food provisions, drinking water, breathable oxygen, new scientific equipment for ongoing experiments, and necessary maintenance gear including spacesuits.

Regular cargo missions like this one are the lifeline of the ISS, ensuring a continuous human presence in low Earth orbit and enabling the multinational crew to conduct groundbreaking research that benefits life on Earth.
