China Coast Guard Deploys Patrols East of Taiwan Region to Safeguard Sovereignty

In a move to reinforce its territorial presence and maritime interests, the China Coast Guard (CCG) announced that its Daishan vessel formation conducted a law-enforcement patrol in the waters east of the Taiwan region on June 1.

The operation comes as a direct response to recent unilateral announcements made by Japan and the Philippines regarding maritime delimitation talks in the area. According to the CCG, these discussions infringe upon the territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests of the Chinese mainland.

By deploying the Daishan vessel formation, the CCG aims to send a clear signal regarding its commitment to regional stability and legal jurisdiction. The agency emphasized that such patrols are necessary measures to counter external interference and maintain order in these strategic waters.

Looking forward, the China Coast Guard has stated its intention to continue strengthening control over the relevant waters. The CCG remains dedicated to taking all necessary measures to safeguard territorial sovereignty, ensuring that maritime rights are upheld in accordance with its legal frameworks.
