In a recent update on maritime traffic in one of the world's most critical waterways, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that 26 vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz over a 24-hour period ending May 28.
According to the IRGC, the fleet—which consisted of both commercial ships and oil tankers—successfully navigated the strait after obtaining the necessary permissions and coordinating their movements with the IRGC Navy. These vessels utilized a designated safe route established by Iran to ensure smooth transit.
While the movement of these ships highlights the ongoing flow of global trade and energy through the region, the IRGC maintained a firm stance on security. The organization warned that any attempts to disrupt the strategic waterway would be met with a decisive response, underscoring the geopolitical sensitivity of the passage.
