China and Belarus Strengthen Trade and Investment Cooperation

In a move to further solidify economic ties, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng has called for deeper trade and investment cooperation between China and Belarus, emphasizing the mutual benefits for both nations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the China-Belarus industrial and investment cooperation forum in Minsk, Vice President Han highlighted the strong momentum that has characterized the relationship between the two countries in recent years. He noted that economic, trade, and investment efforts have already yielded significant and fruitful results.

The scale of growth is particularly striking. According to Vice President Han, bilateral trade in 2025 reached a volume nearly 150 times higher than the figures recorded shortly after the two nations established diplomatic relations over three decades ago. A cornerstone of this success is the flagship China-Belarus Industrial Park, which has attracted 178 enterprises and served as a catalyst for local economic and social development.

Looking forward, the Vice President urged both nations to strengthen the alignment of their development strategies. He specifically called for the advancement of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and the exploration of new drivers for trade growth to expand industrial and investment collaboration.

Vice President Han reaffirmed China's commitment to high-quality development and high-level opening up, stating that these policies will create broader opportunities for global partners, including Belarus.

The forum, which drew over 400 attendees, was jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China-Belarus Industrial Park, and the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus.
