In a move to further solidify bilateral relations, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin in Minsk this past Saturday. The meeting underscored China's firm commitment to deepening cooperation and developing ties with Belarus, reinforcing the status of Belarus as China's all-weather comprehensive strategic partner.

A Foundation of High-Level Development

Vice President Han highlighted that under the strategic guidance of their respective presidents, China-Belarus relations have maintained a trajectory of high-level development. This cooperation across various sectors has not only achieved solid progress but has also delivered tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

China has expressed its readiness to work closely with Belarus to implement the common understandings reached by the two heads of state. By strengthening strategic communication and carrying forward their traditional friendship, both nations aim to keep bilateral relations moving forward in a mutually beneficial manner.

Expanding Economic and Infrastructure Synergy

Beyond bilateral trade, the two leaders discussed their roles in international affairs. China reaffirmed its support for Belarus in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests. Vice President Han emphasized a shared commitment to practicing true multilateralism and safeguarding the interests of the Global South to bring greater certainty to an often turbulent global landscape.

In response, Prime Minister Turchin praised China's momentum in pursuing high-quality development and its constructive role in upholding international fairness and justice.
