Laos Premieres Chinese Documentaries Highlighting President Xi’s Cultural Vision

In a significant move to strengthen cultural ties, Vientiane recently hosted a launch ceremony for three Chinese documentaries, including the acclaimed "The Heritage Guardian." The event underscores the growing cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations.

Produced by China Media Group (CMG), "The Heritage Guardian" offers a vivid exploration of President Xi Jinping's commitment to the inheritance and development of culture. The film showcases his dedication to preserving historical continuity and strengthening cultural confidence, utilizing practical examples of China's efforts in the new era to protect its civilization and trace its origins.

Alongside "The Heritage Guardian," two other documentaries were premiered. One chronicles China's remarkable achievements since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, while the other delves into the cultural value and profound connotations of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, expressed his appreciation in a congratulatory letter. He noted that the documentaries embody Chinese philosophical wisdom and reflect a deep love for China's five-thousand-year-long civilization. President Thongloun emphasized that China's approach to national rejuvenation through cultural strength serves as an excellent reference for Laos as it seeks to protect its own unique national culture while advancing social and economic development.

Addressing the event via video, CMG President Shen Haixiong expressed his hope that these works provide a window into President Xi's governance philosophy, allowing the people of Laos to appreciate the spirit and charm of China in the new era. He highlighted CMG's eagerness to engage in mutual learning with Laotian partners to build a high-standard, high-quality, and high-level China-Laos community with a shared future.

The documentaries have begun broadcasting on major media outlets, including Lao National Television and Lao National Radio. The launch event was attended by over 200 guests, including Laotian officials, media representatives, and members of the Chinese community and overseas Chinese.
