Chinese VP Han Zheng to Visit Russia and Belarus for Major Economic Forum

In a significant move to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng is scheduled to embark on a high-profile visit to Russia and Belarus starting tomorrow, June 4.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that Vice President Han Zheng will travel to Russia at the invitation of the Russian government to participate in the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The forum remains a cornerstone for global economic dialogue, providing a platform for leaders, entrepreneurs, and market analysts to discuss investment, trade, and geopolitical stability.

Following his engagement in St. Petersburg, Vice President Han will visit Belarus, also responding to an official invitation from the Belarusian government. The entire diplomatic mission is slated to take place from June 4 to June 8, 2026.

For global investors and academic researchers, this visit underscores the deepening strategic partnership between the Chinese mainland and its Eurasian partners. The outcomes of these discussions are expected to provide further insights into future economic collaborations, infrastructure projects, and regional development initiatives that will influence the Asian and European landscapes.
