Beijing Launches ‘GO BEIJING’ One-Stop Platform for Overseas Travelers

Imagine landing in Beijing, eager to explore the Forbidden City or savor Peking duck, but faced with language barriers and payment complexities. That experience is set to change with the recent launch of 'GO BEIJING,' a comprehensive digital platform designed specifically for overseas travelers.

Rolled out by Beijing authorities, the 'GO BEIJING' platform, also known as 'Enter Beijing,' serves as a one-stop solution to common travel pain points. It integrates 39 practical services covering every aspect of a visitor's journey—from booking hotels and hailing rides to securing tickets for cultural sites and managing tax refunds.

A standout feature is the innovative 'travel wallet,' which allows users from 40 countries and regions to make payments without needing a local Chinese bank card. Cross-border remittances can be deposited directly into the wallet and spent with zero transaction fees, streamlining financial transactions for international guests.

Language is no longer a barrier, as the platform supports 16 languages, enabling seamless navigation. Additionally, at designated tax-free stores, shoppers can enjoy instant tax refunds by simply tapping their phones, receiving funds in as little as two minutes.

Beyond the app, Beijing has enhanced its international web portal to include Italian among 10 supported languages. The '12345 Online' service enables expatriates to submit inquiries in their native language and receive prompt responses. Furthermore, the Jingtong app's English version now offers over 30 services, including hospital appointment bookings and an English map, with automatic passport photo recognition for easy setup.

For immediate assistance upon arrival, service points at Beijing Capital International Airport and Daxing International Airport provide over 20 integrated services covering communication, transport, finance, and cultural tourism.

These coordinated efforts underscore Beijing's commitment to fostering a welcoming and efficient environment for global visitors, reflecting the city's role as a key hub in Asia's dynamic tourism landscape. As travel continues to rebound in 2026, such innovations position Beijing at the forefront of destination hospitality, appealing to business professionals, tourists, and the Asian diaspora alike.
