Wenzhou Hosts 15th China International Garden Expo, Champions Green Urban Transformation

The 15th China International Garden Expo opened in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, on April 15, 2026, marking a significant step in the country's push for sustainable urban development. The event, themed 'Harmonizing Cities with Nature,' features cutting-edge green technologies and landscape designs from over 40 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Visitors can explore 32 themed pavilions showcasing eco-friendly infrastructure, smart water management systems, and low-carbon urban planning models. A highlight includes Wenzhou's 'Sponge City' exhibit, which demonstrates flood-resilient architecture tailored to the region's monsoon climate.

Chinese officials emphasized the expo's role in meeting national carbon neutrality targets. 'This event accelerates knowledge-sharing for livable, climate-adaptive cities,' stated a representative from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development during the opening ceremony.

Running through July 15, the expo is expected to draw 5 million visitors, with virtual reality tours available for global audiences. Parallel forums will address urban biodiversity preservation and renewable energy integration strategies.
