CMG Film Culture Carnival Opens in Ningbo with Diverse Activities

China Media Group's annual Film Culture Carnival launched this week in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, showcasing an innovative fusion of cinema with cultural preservation and tourism. The event, running through late April 2026, features immersive exhibitions connecting classic Chinese films with regional intangible cultural heritage practices.

Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops demonstrating traditional craftsmanship featured in historical dramas, while food stalls recreate culinary scenes from popular movies. A special "Film Tourism" zone highlights shooting locations across the Chinese mainland that have gained international attention through recent cinematic productions.

The carnival coincides with Ningbo's push to establish itself as an eastern cultural hub, leveraging its UNESCO Creative City designation. Organizers emphasize this year's focus on cross-industry collaboration, with forums connecting filmmakers, digital innovators, and cultural preservation experts.
