Jiangsu-ROK Friendship Week 2026 Concludes with 27 Major Cooperation Deals

The 2026 China (Jiangsu)-ROK Friendship Week has officially come to a close, marking a significant milestone in the economic and cultural relationship between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Chinese mainland. Hosted in the vibrant cities of Nanjing and Yancheng within Jiangsu Province, the event featured a comprehensive series of activities centered on economic trade, cultural exchange, and strategic communications.

A highlight of the week took place on May 20, when a business delegation of over 100 representatives from the ROK attended the Jiangsu-ROK Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange in Yancheng. The gathering served as a catalyst for innovation and partnership, culminating in the signing of 27 key cooperation projects. These agreements span several cutting-edge sectors, including new energy, next-generation information technology, and industrial ecology, signaling a shared commitment to sustainable and high-tech growth.

The strength of this partnership is rooted in a robust economic foundation. Jiangsu remains the largest province on the Chinese mainland in terms of trade with the ROK and continues to be the premier destination for ROK investment. This synergy was evident in the 2025 trade figures, which reached a staggering USD 86.33 billion.

Yancheng, in particular, stands as a beacon of this cross-border collaboration. The city is home to the Yangtze River Delta's only state-level ROK cooperation park, an industrial hub that brings together nearly 6,000 enterprises. This park hosts some of the ROK's most influential global brands, including Kia Motors, SK Group, and Mobis, further cementing the region's role as a critical node in the global supply chain.

As the Friendship Week concludes, the successful clinching of these deals underscores the enduring nature of the ties between Jiangsu and the ROK, promising a future of mutual prosperity and technological advancement.
