Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described his meeting with Keith Kellogg, the U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, as \"productive.\" The discussions in Kyiv focused on the battlefield situation, the return of prisoners of war, and effective security guarantees.
On social media platform X, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude towards the United States for its assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine. He also mentioned Ukraine's readiness to sign a \"strong, effective investment and security agreement\" with U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing the proposal as the \"fastest and most constructive way to achieve results.\"
Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday and held talks with Zelenskyy earlier that day. According to Ukrainian presidential spokesperson Serhii Nikiforov, a joint press conference between Zelenskyy and Kellogg did not take place at the request of the U.S. side.
Later on Thursday, Kellogg met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to discuss pathways toward a \"comprehensive, just and lasting peace\" in Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sybiha reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to achieving peace through strength and outlined Kyiv's vision for the necessary steps.
