Amman, Jordan – Three Israeli civilians were shot and killed on Sunday at the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan, Israeli officials reported.
The attack occurred when a gunman approached the crossing from the Jordanian side in a truck and opened fire before security forces shot him dead. The three victims were Israeli men in their fifties, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service.
This incident marks the first attack along the Jordan-Israel border since the recent escalation in conflict following Hamas’ assault on southern Israel on October 7.
Officials stated that the shooting took place in a commercial cargo area under Israeli control, where Jordanian trucks offload cargo entering the West Bank. The Allenby Bridge, also known as the King Hussein Bridge, is a vital crossing point for Palestinians, international tourists, and cargo shipments.
The attack has raised concerns over security and stability along the border, which has generally remained calm despite regional tensions.
