China-Kazakhstan Ties Deepen Through Khorgos Trade Corridor in New Documentary

As 2025 draws to a close, the second episode of Apple Scent — Partnership in Khorgos reveals how industrial collaboration is reshaping Eurasia's economic landscape. The documentary's 'Connected' installment, released this week, showcases real-world examples of Sino-Kazakh cooperation at the Khorgos Eastern Gate Special Economic Zone.

Viewers witness Chinese technicians working alongside Kazakh partners to operationalize an intelligent fruit-sorting line capable of processing 20 tons of apples hourly. This innovation comes as bilateral trade between the Chinese mainland and Kazakhstan reaches $45 billion this year, with agricultural exports playing a key role.

The film follows cross-border shuttle drivers navigating the world's largest dry port, where a record 8,000 China-Europe freight trains transited in 2025. Meanwhile, the newly launched Khorgos-Suzhou Computing Center demonstrates technological synergy, processing data for smart city projects across both regions.

Through personal stories of joint entrepreneurship and cultural exchange, the documentary illustrates how infrastructure connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative fosters mutual growth. As one Kazakh logistics manager remarks: 'Our daily work builds bridges no map can show.'
