St. Petersburg experienced a series of drone strikes early Wednesday morning, targeting critical infrastructure across three different districts of the city.
Governor Alexander Beglov announced the attacks via his Telegram account, specifying that facilities in the Kronstadt, Kirovsky, and Krasnoselsky districts were hit. According to the governor, the strikes resulted in several injuries, though no fatalities were reported.
The timing of these incidents is particularly notable as the city is currently hosting the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, taking place from June 3 to June 6. The forum serves as a major gathering for global business professionals, investors, and policymakers, making the security situation a point of concern for international attendees.
