In a significant escalation of military activity, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that they have targeted more than 85 Hezbollah infrastructure sites throughout various regions of Lebanon. The operations, which combined air and ground strikes, took place over the past 24 hours.
According to an official IDF statement, the strikes specifically focused on critical infrastructure used by Hezbollah to facilitate attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel. These targets included strategic weapons storage facilities, rocket launchers, and various operational structures.
One of the most notable strikes occurred in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon. The IDF reported successfully hitting an underground facility that Hezbollah had been utilizing for the production of weapons, marking a targeted blow to the group's manufacturing capabilities.
Simultaneously, the Israeli army engaged Hezbollah militants who were reportedly carrying out attacks against IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon. The region remains a high-tension zone, with the IDF maintaining control over a specific security area.
The IDF further reported that Hezbollah launched rockets toward Israeli forces operating within this southern security zone. While the rockets landed in close proximity to the soldiers, the Israeli military confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the barrage.
