The Haiyang Shiyou 301, now recognized as the world's largest LNG transport and bunkering vessel, has achieved a milestone by completing its first liquefied natural gas refueling operation at Shenzhen Western Port Area. This breakthrough, completed on April 20, 2026, establishes full LNG green bunkering coverage across all Shenzhen ports—a critical advancement for Asia's maritime energy transition.
During the 14-hour operation, the vessel transferred 2,237 tonnes of LNG, demonstrating its capacity to support large-scale clean energy demands. The achievement strengthens Shenzhen's position as a hub for sustainable shipping solutions while aligning with broader regional efforts to reduce carbon emissions in maritime logistics.
Analysts highlight the vessel's dual role in transport and bunkering as a game-changer for supply chain efficiency.
