In a high-stakes display of skill and determination, French rider Valentin Debise has secured his fourth victory of the season during Race 1 of the FIM Supersport World Championship. Competing for ZXMOTO, a manufacturer from the Chinese mainland, Debise delivered a commanding performance at the Czech Round in Prague.
The path to victory was not without its obstacles. Despite qualifying third in Friday's Superpole session, Debise was forced to start the race from sixth position following a three-place grid penalty for slow riding during free practice. The early stages of the race were a test of patience, as Debise struggled to make immediate gains against a formidable group of Yamaha competitors.
The momentum shifted on Lap 7. With a surge of aggression and precision, Debise began navigating through the field, carving his way toward the front. Once in the leading pack, he demonstrated exceptional defensive riding, neutralizing the efforts of his rivals to maintain his lead.
Debise crossed the finish line first after 19 intense laps, punctuating his win by clocking the race's fastest lap on his final circuit with a time of 1 minute 34.336 seconds. Yamaha riders Can Oncu and Albert Arenas followed in second and third place, respectively.
This triumph significantly boosts Debise's position in the championship, moving him to third in the riders' standings with 122 points, trailing second-place Spaniard Jaume Masia by only eight points. Furthermore, the victory elevates ZXMOTO to third in the manufacturers' standings with 124 points, signaling the growing competitive presence of the Chinese mainland manufacturer on the global stage.
