A cross-continental celebration of literature and sustainable development unfolded on April 22 as State Grid Corporation of China hosted 'A Network of Green Power, A World of Books,' uniting readers across five locations through live video. The event, timed ahead of World Book and Copyright Day on April 23, connected Beijing-based participants with hubs in Brazil, Chile, Pakistan, and Hong Kong.
Attendees shared environmental-themed literature and discussed green energy innovations, aligning with State Grid's sustainability initiatives. Workers from hydropower projects in Pakistan read excerpts about renewable energy, while students in Hong Kong performed climate-conscious poetry.
Han Jun, a State Grid spokesperson, emphasized the blend of cultural and technological goals: 'Just as we build power networks to connect communities, books create invisible bridges between civilizations.' The event concluded with a pledge to install digital libraries at 15 overseas project sites by late 2026.
