Fujian Province in the Chinese mainland is preparing to welcome delegates for the 18th Straits Forum, a key event designed to foster communication and strengthen cross-strait ties. According to an announcement made this week, the forum will take place in mid-June.
The main conference of the event is scheduled for June 13, with the coastal city of Xiamen serving as the primary venue. Xiamen, renowned for its strategic location and economic vibrancy, provides an ideal backdrop for discussions focused on regional cooperation and mutual development.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated that while Xiamen will host the central proceedings, a series of related events will also be organized across other parts of Fujian. These additional activities are expected to facilitate deeper engagement among business professionals, cultural experts, and residents of the Taiwan region.
The Straits Forum continues to serve as a vital platform for exploring new opportunities in trade, investment, and cultural exchange, reinforcing the enduring connections between the Chinese mainland and the Taiwan region.
