China Dispatches Emergency Team to Guangxi After Vehicle Plunges Into River

The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters of the Chinese mainland has deployed a specialized work team to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to assist and guide urgent search and rescue efforts following a tragic vehicle accident.

Incident in Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County

The accident occurred on Saturday night in Luoyang Town, located within the Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County. According to reports from the county government, a truck carrying 15 people plunged into a river while attempting to cross a bridge that had been flooded.

Emergency responders acted quickly, successfully rescuing five individuals. However, one person has been confirmed dead, and nine others remain missing as search operations continue throughout the region.

Accountability and Ongoing Investigation

The Ministry of Emergency Management confirmed on Sunday that the dispatched work team is providing critical support to local rescue teams to ensure all possible avenues are explored to locate the missing passengers.

In accordance with the law, those responsible for the incident have been placed under control. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and to address any failures in safety protocols.
