China Condemns UK Sanctions on Chinese Entities Over Trade Allegations

Diplomatic tensions have heightened between Beijing and London as the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom issued a strong condemnation regarding the British government's recent decision to impose sanctions on two Chinese entities.

The sanctions follow allegations that the entities supplied drone components and other military-related goods to Russia. In response, the embassy described the measures as "unilateral" and asserted that they lack any basis in international law.

A spokesperson for the embassy emphasized that these sanctions undermine the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies. Consequently, China has already lodged stern representations with the UK government, demanding a reversal of the decision.

Addressing the broader geopolitical context, the spokesperson reiterated that China has maintained an objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine crisis. The embassy further noted that China remains committed to promoting peace talks and has strictly enforced controls over the export of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations.

The Chinese side stressed that normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disrupted. "We urge the UK to immediately rectify its wrongdoing and revoke the sanctions against the relevant Chinese entities," the spokesperson stated, warning that China is prepared to take strong measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies.
