Pakistani Delegation Lauds China’s Development During Landmark Visit

A delegation comprising representatives from prominent Pakistani media outlets and think tanks recently concluded a multi-region tour of China, offering them a firsthand look at the country's developmental strides. The visit, which included stops in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Hubei Province, and Beijing, aimed to deepen mutual understanding and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

During their time in Xinjiang, the group engaged in on-site visits and dialogues, moving beyond narratives to witness the region's progress directly. In Maigaiti County, they explored initiatives in ecological construction, modern agriculture, and cultural preservation. The delegates noted the county's tangible achievements in balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability and safeguarding its rich folk heritage.

"This is a truly magnificent ecological project. It is truly amazing to witness such a grand project in the heart of the desert," remarked Rashida Shoukat, a journalist from Abb Takk News, while touring a vast ecological forest base designed for windbreak and sand-blocking. The delegation also visited high-standard farmland, where advanced agricultural techniques were on display. Javaid Iqbal, president of Pakistan's National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), expressed admiration, stating, "These high-tech agricultural planting models are very impressive," and voiced hope for introducing such technologies to Pakistan.

At the Urumqi International Land Port Area, Iqbal highlighted the facility's role as a crucial logistics hub, calling it an "efficient trade corridor" linking China with Central Asia and Europe and a key facilitator of regional commerce.

The journey continued to central China's Hubei Province, where the delegation visited the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center. Interactive sessions with cutting-edge robots showcased China's latest advancements in robotics, sparking discussions on potential future cooperation in emerging technologies. "During the visit, I witnessed firsthand China's technological development," said Muhammad Shehryar Khan, a professor at Pakistan's Iqra University.

The tour concluded in Beijing with a visit to the historic Great Wall, symbolizing the enduring nature of China-Pakistan friendship. The delegation's experiences across China's diverse landscapes—from desert reclamation projects and high-tech farms to innovation hubs—provided a comprehensive and authentic perspective on the country's multifaceted development trajectory in 2026.
