China Adds Seven EU Entities to Export Control List

In a significant move to safeguard national security and interests, China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Friday, April 24, 2026, that it has added seven European Union entities to its export control list. The decision is framed as a measure to fulfill international non-proliferation obligations.

The affected entities are FN Herstal, Fabrique Nationale de Herstal; OMNIPOL a.s.; HENSOLDT AG; EXCALIBUR ARMY spol.s.r.o; SPACEKNOW INC., odstepny zavod s.r.o; VZLU AEROSPACE a.s.; and FN Browning. Export operators are now prohibited from shipping dual-use items to these firms.

Additionally, overseas organizations and individuals are barred from transferring or providing China-origin dual-use items to these entities. Any ongoing related activities must cease immediately, according to the ministry's announcement.

Dual-use items refer to goods, technologies, or services that could serve both civilian and military purposes, or contribute to the development of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems.

A ministry spokesperson emphasized that the measures were taken in strict accordance with China's relevant laws and regulations. Prior to the announcement, China informed the European side through the bilateral export control dialogue mechanism.

The spokesperson clarified that the listing specifically targets a small number of EU military-related entities involved in arms sales to or collusion with the Taiwan region. The restrictions apply solely to dual-use items and are not intended to disrupt normal trade and economic exchanges between China and the EU. Law-abiding EU entities have no cause for concern.

The Chinese government reaffirmed its commitment to working with all countries to uphold world peace, regional stability, and the resilience of global industrial and supply chains.
