China Dominates Day 3 at Asian Judo Championships with 5 Medals

Chinese athletes delivered a stellar performance on Saturday at the Asian Judo Championships in Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, securing five medals during the third day of competition. The host nation claimed two golds, one silver, and two bronzes – its strongest showing at the continental event in recent years.

Wu Hongtao staged a dramatic comeback in the women's under-78kg final against the UAE's Yelyzaveta Lytvynenko. Trailing for most of the match, Wu executed a perfectly timed throw with just 27 seconds remaining to claim victory. The bronze medals in this category went to Uzbekistan's Barchinoy Kodirova and Kazakhstan's Aruna Jangeldina.

China's second gold came through another women's division triumph, though specific details of the match remain unconfirmed at press time. The team's success comes as Ordos welcomes judoka from across Asia for this year's championships, which serve as a key qualifier for major international sporting events through 2026.
