Haikou's 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) has become the stage for a striking cultural collaboration as the Italian sculpture 'Daughter of the Sea' made its global debut today. Crafted specifically for this year's expo, the artwork now anchors Hall 4's Italian pavilion, symbolizing the growing cultural and economic ties between Italy and the Chinese mainland.
The sculpture's installation coincides with the opening of the six-day trade fair, which has become a key platform for Asia-Pacific consumer markets since its 2021 inception. Organizers highlight that over 3,800 brands from 71 countries and regions are participating this year, with the Italian delegation featuring 147 companies across luxury goods, design, and manufacturing sectors.
Cultural attachés from both nations emphasize the artwork's role in bridging Mediterranean and South China Sea narratives. 'This fusion of Italian craftsmanship and Hainan's maritime heritage reflects our shared economic vision,' stated an Italian trade representative during the unveiling ceremony.
With the expo running through late April 2026, business analysts predict increased cross-border investment opportunities, particularly in sustainable luxury goods and marine tourism infrastructure. The event is expected to draw over 400,000 visitors, including buyers from 35 global retail chains.
