The 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair has become a vibrant stage for celebrating traditional Chinese culture, drawing global attention to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. From delicate Suzhou embroidery to intricate Shaanxi paper-cutting, artisans from across the Chinese mainland demonstrated their centuries-old crafts at the five-day event in Guangdong Province.
Visitors explored interactive exhibits where master inheritors explained the symbolism behind traditional designs, such as peonies for prosperity and dragons for power. “This fair bridges history and modernity,” said organizer Li Wei. “We’re seeing tech companies collaborate with artisans to create digital archives of these endangered skills.”
The event also highlighted economic opportunities, with over 200 businesses from 16 countries and regions participating. Analysts noted growing international interest in culturally inspired products, particularly in luxury goods and tourism sectors.
