China Promotes Global AI Collaboration at Paris Summit

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing attended the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in Paris on Monday, where he emphasized the importance of promoting common development and security in AI.

Zhang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted AI as a key driver for a new technological revolution and industrial transformation.

Addressing the summit, he stated that China is committed to participating responsibly in global AI governance, referencing President Xi Jinping's introduction of the Global AI Governance Initiative in October 2023.

Zhang urged the international community to collaborate in deepening innovative cooperation, enhancing inclusiveness, and ensuring universal benefits in AI development to improve global governance.

He also extended an invitation to all parties to join the 2025 World AI Conference in Shanghai.

The summit saw the participation of heads of state and government, high-level representatives from over 30 countries, and leaders of international organizations, all of whom jointly issued a statement.

During his visit to France, Zhang met with French President Emmanuel Macron, where they discussed enhancing communication and cooperation between China and France to promote peace and development.
