Chinese Air Force Conducts Routine Patrol Over Huangyan Dao

On Tuesday, the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command conducted a routine patrol in the airspace over Huangyan Dao, a spokesperson announced in a statement.

The patrol is part of regular training operations aimed at safeguarding China's national sovereignty and maintaining peace and stability in the region, the spokesperson added.

Huangyan Dao, located in the South China Sea, is an integral part of China's territory. Regular patrols in the area underscore the commitment of the PLA to protect the nation's maritime rights and interests.

The spokesperson emphasized that such operations are conducted in accordance with international laws and norms and are not directed at any specific country or target.

While the statement did not specify the types of aircraft involved, previous patrols in the region have included advanced fighter jets and surveillance planes.

The PLA Southern Theater Command is responsible for operations in China's southern periphery, including the South China Sea, an area of significant strategic importance due to its vital shipping lanes and rich natural resources.
