Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka will be out for “many weeks” after suffering a hamstring injury during Saturday’s 5-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace, manager Mikel Arteta announced.
The 23-year-old England international was forced off in the 22nd minute of the match at Selhurst Park and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches. Saka has been instrumental this season, recording five goals and ten assists, helping Arsenal secure third place in the standings.
“It’s a big loss for us,” Arteta said. “Bukayo will miss Friday’s league game against Ipswich Town at the Emirates, along with several others, but we are hopeful he will recover before the season concludes.”
Saka’s injury history includes missing three Nations League games in October and November, as well as Arsenal’s league defeat at Bournemouth and their Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk due to an injury to the same leg.
Arteta attributed the injury to a build-up of factors, including the number of games Saka has played. “It’s the accumulation of matches and intensity,” he explained. “We have to manage his workload to prevent these issues in the future.”
Arsenal fans and teammates alike are eager for Saka’s swift recovery, as the team looks to maintain their strong performance in both domestic and European competitions.
