According to China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the nation’s railway operator, over 105 million passenger trips were handled by the national railway system between September 29, when the travel surge began, and October 4.
From September 30 to October 4, the railway system managed over 17 million passenger trips per day. Notably, on October 1, the number of travelers exceeded 21 million, setting a new single-day record for railway passenger traffic.
