In addition, President Xi visited BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd., a joint venture between German chemical company BASF and Chinese enterprise Shanshan. Established in 2021, the company represents one of the largest foreign investment projects in Hunan Province. During the visit, he focused on the importance of indigenous innovation and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces. He encouraged the expansion of high-level openness to the outside world, promoting collaborative advancement in technology and industry.
On March 19, President Xi visited a cultural street and a village to observe local efforts in restoring historical and cultural districts, managing urban water environments, preparing for spring farming, and enhancing grassroots governance. His visit reflects a comprehensive approach to sustainable development, integrating cultural preservation, environmental management, agricultural readiness, and community governance.
This inspection tour highlights President Xi’s continued emphasis on education and innovation as fundamental pillars for China’s ongoing development. Hunan Province, as a major economic hub in central China, plays a crucial role in achieving the goals outlined in the “14th Five-Year Plan.”
