Three Dead After Toxic Gas Leak at Manufacturing Factory in Punjab

A tragic industrial accident has claimed the lives of three workers and left many others ill following a toxic gas leak at a hand tool manufacturing facility in the northern Indian state of Punjab.

The incident took place on Monday within Industrial Area A in Ludhiana, a prominent industrial hub located approximately 105 kilometers west of the state capital, Chandigarh. According to local police, the leak occurred unexpectedly during routine tank cleaning operations at the factory.

The situation escalated rapidly as the toxic gas spread across the premises within minutes. A senior police official noted that the concentration of the gas was so intense that workers trapped inside had virtually no time to escape the facility.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and those affected were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Local authorities have since launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the precise cause of the leak and to assess whether safety protocols were strictly followed during the cleaning process.
