Iran-US Talks Resume in Islamabad Amid Regional Diplomacy Push

A high-level Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Islamabad on April 11, 2026, for renewed diplomatic talks with the United States, according to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry. The delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, was greeted by senior Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan's commitment to fostering constructive dialogue, stating, 'We believe sustained engagement is vital to addressing regional security challenges.' The talks, facilitated by Islamabad, aim to de-escalate tensions and explore pathways for cooperation on shared economic and geopolitical interests.

Analysts suggest the meetings could influence stability in the Middle East and Central Asia, with implications for energy markets and cross-border security. The discussions also highlight Pakistan's evolving role as a mediator in complex international disputes.
