Hezbollah Vows Continued Resistance as Israel Falls Short of War Goals

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem declared on Friday, April 10, 2026, that Israeli forces failed to achieve their military objectives in recent clashes, including a thwarted ground incursion, and pledged to sustain resistance efforts. Speaking from Lebanon, Qassem emphasized that Israeli troops faced significant losses in ambushes and suffered damage to military vehicles along the border.

Hezbollah’s rocket, artillery, and drone attacks reportedly reached as far as Haifa in northern Israel, according to Qassem, who accused Israel of escalating strikes on civilian areas such as Beirut and its southern suburbs to offset battlefield setbacks. The leader rejected any return to pre-conflict conditions and urged Lebanese authorities to avoid concessions, stating, "The threats and weapons of the enemy will not intimidate us."

Qassem extended condolences to families of civilians and fighters killed in the conflict, while reaffirming Hezbollah’s commitment to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty. Analysts suggest the remarks signal prolonged regional instability as cross-border tensions remain unresolved.
